Over the duration of two days, around 30 early-career researchers complemented by 8 keynote speakers and senior researchers from Israel and Germany came together to explore cutting-edge approaches in CO₂ conversion to value-added chemicals and fuels. The workshop provided a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and the development of long-term academic cooperation, thereby strengthening bilateral collaboration in applied energy research.
Goals
The workshop aimed to:
- Foster scientific exchange between PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and senior experts.
- Explore new strategies for CO₂ electroreduction and related catalytic processes.
- Encourage joint German-Israeli research initiatives and future project proposals.
Organisation
The event was jointly organised by the German-Israeli Foundation (GIF), the German-Israeli Energy Partnership, and a scientific committee led by Prof. Peter Strasser (TU Berlin) and Prof. Lior Elbaz & Dr. Hannah-Noa Barad (Bar-Ilan University).
