Israeli Delegation in Berlin on “Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment"
11-13 September, 2023
From September 11-13, 2023, an eleven-member delegation from Israel, focusing on 'Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment', visited Germany for three days. The group, led by the Head of Sustainable Energy at the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, included eight architects and representatives from the Israeli Ministries of Energy and Environment, city administrators, and research institutions.
This expert journey concentrated on showcasing Germany's best practices in the local energy transition and on deepening the bilateral dialogue on regulatory frameworks, strategies, and mechanisms to promote relevant measures. Special attention was given to three key areas: energy efficiency in the building sector, photovoltaic (PV) integration in buildings, and heating/cooling supply, including the use of heat pumps in districts. The delegation engaged in presentations and discussions on innovative technologies and pioneering concepts and solutions. Site visits to successfully implemented energy transition projects, including the Euref-Campus, Adlershof Technology Park, and Potsdamer Platz Cooling Center, offered insights into practical applications on the global pathway towards climate-neutrality.
