Start-ups Delegation at the Set Tech Festival 2025

18 and 19 March, 2025, Berlin

For the Set Tech Festival 2025 in Berlin, the German-Israeli Energy Partnership invited a delegation of start-ups from Israel to present their innovative solutions in the energy sector to an international audience. Through a competitive application process, five start-ups were selected to join the conference in Berlin and take part in its activities. As such, they were able to present their energy solutions together with start-ups from Jordan and Turkey at a joined booth, connect with German and international stakeholder of the energy ecosystem and participate in an exclusive workshop focused on scaling start-ups and expanding into the German and European market.

The following start-ups from Israel took part in this delegation trip:

  • Batteri
  • H2Pro
  • Sphere Technologies
  • Salion Energy
  • Sol Chip
  • Startup Central Nation as jury member for the Set Tech Festival Awards
  •

The SET Tech Festival brings together a global network of innovators who are shaping the future of energy. By participating in this festival, the invited start-ups had the opportunity to connect, network and exchange future business opportunities with the best start-ups in the field of energy solutions as well as innovation-driven companies, investors and public organisations driving the energy transition.

In the afternoon of the festival, there was also the opportunity to talk to Head of the Directorate responsible for the region of Middle East and North Africa, Dr Dorothea Schütz, during which the start-ups were able to pitch their ideas. This was followed by a discussion about access to the German economy, bilateral and trilateral cooperation, among other things.

The following day the start-ups took part in an exclusive workshop focussing on the topic of “Powering Growth: Expanding Energy Start-ups in Germany & Europe”. This interactive workshop with expert trainers from GTAI provided the participants with valuable insights into the German energy market and key trends in the energy sector. Industry-specific challenges were also addressed, including regulatory requirements and certification processes. The presentation of go-to-market strategies for international start-ups in Germany was also of particular interest for the start-ups.

After a joint lunch with all the start-ups, the trip ended with a tour of the EUREF Campus which allowed participants to gain insights into the companies based there and their solutions for the energy transition.

This start-up delegation trip was very successful. Besides the success of bringing together representatives from three different countries to present their solutions together and network amongst each other, the German-Israeli Energy Partnership managed to provide the start-ups with a platform where they could interact with such a passionate and inspiring startup ecosystem and connect with its key players as well as representatives of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
