Signing of the work program for 2024 at COP28

On December 05, 2023, during the international climate conference at COP28 in Dubai, an important milestone of the German-Israeli Energy Partnership was attained. Dr Gideon Friedman, the then-Chief Scientist of the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and Gerlind Heckmann, Deputy Director General at the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, came together to sign the working program for 2024 of the German-Israeli Energy Partnership. The signing took place in the environmentally themed Green Hall of the German Pavilion and was attended by a multiplicity of international guests and state representatives. This new working program signifies a renewed and strengthened commitment to advancing dialogue on topics such as Renewable Energies, Crisis Communication and Management, Electric Mobility, and the Digitalisation of the Energy Sector. Furthermore, the program focuses on critical issues such as Natural Gas Storages & Hydrogen, Security by Design in the energy sector, Energy Efficiency in the built environment, Cybersecurity of critical energy system components, and the Physical Protection of Energy Infrastructure.
